Annual Catholic Appeal

The Annual Catholic Appeal is an invitation for every Catholic family to respond with a generous heart. Your gift will provide inspiration, education and services to the less fortunate in our Archdiocese and throughout the world.

You can also mail a check to the Annual Catholic Appeal: 835 North Rush Street, Chicago, Illinois 60611-2030. Gifts made through stock, Donor Advised Funds and IRA distributions can also be made by calling 312.534.7959.

93 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to the critical work of the schools, parishes, agencies and ministries of the Archdiocese of Chicago. We do not share your information, nor do we sell or rent our lists.

Parish History

Our parish and community was founded in the 1920s. It all began when His Eminence Cardinal George Mundelein appointed Rev. Dr. Harold S. Trainor to organize St. Priscilla Parish on March 29, 1926. Pastor Trainor conducted the first Mass for our community on May 2, 1926 in a classroom in the partially completed Bridge Norman Public School building at North New England Avenue and West Byron Street. Additionally, with the help of the Sisters of Charity of Park Ridge, who organized a Sunday school, Pastor Trainor prepared the children to receive Holy Communion for the first time in our parish on July 3, 1927.

The Prayer Emergency Rescue Service is a community of individuals who wish to support others through prayer in times of particular need. Our mission is to provide spiritual assistance to all those who find themselves in difficult moments of life — in illness, suffering, crisis, or simply when they need support and the presence of God.

Anyone who wishes to entrust their prayer intention can submit it to our team. Members of the Prayer Emergency Rescue Service pray daily for the entrusted intentions, asking God for grace, strength, and hope for those in need.
