What is Holy Communion?
Do not forget that without the sacraments, your faith grows weak. Over time, without My blessing that flows from them, your soul falls into slumber. All faith in Me and My Eternal Father gradually fades, leaving only a small spark that flares up from time to time. Return to Me through the sacraments. Pay homage and show the reverence they deserve, and you will once again feel My true presence. Remember that the sacraments are the nourishment your souls need for eternal life they were not instituted without purpose. Without them, your soul will perish. I love you all. Please, draw closer to Me by honoring the sacraments, which are a gift from God the Father to you. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion is offered through our Religious Education Program. Please contact the Parish Rectory or Anna Harmata, our Religious Education Coordinator.
Holy Communion
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is the third of the Sacraments of Initiation because it beings us into the fullness of our life in Christ. In Holy Communion, we are eating the True Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, without which “you shall not have life in you”(John 6:53). Receiving Holy Communion worthily brings us graces that affect us both spiritually and physically. Spiritually, our souls become more united to Christ, both through the graces we receive and trough the change in our actions that those graces effect. Physically, frequent Communion relieves us of our passions. By receiving Christ’s Bosy and Blood, our own bodies are sanctified, and we grow in our likeness to Christ.
