We Have a Pope from Chicago – Leo XIV

We are thrilled to announce that on May 8, 2025, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, born in Chicago, was elected as pope and took the name Leo XIV. This is a historic moment – for the first time in the history of the Catholic Church, the pope is an American, and more specifically, a Chicagoan. His election has been met with joy and hope both in the United States and around the world.
